Ludlow's Fairtrade Group is Looking For New Volunteers!

Ludlow has been a Fairtrade town since 2003!

This means that we’re committed to promoting ethical and fair trade both here and abroad. We believe that a critically important way to help people in developing countries improve their standard of living is through trading fairly:

* giving small scale farmers and artisans a fair price for the goods they produce,
* enabling them to improve facilities in their communities, such as schools and
hospitals,
* encouraging small producers to work in sustainable ways, using good environmental
practices,
* ensuring safety at work and cooperative structures that allow workers to have a
stronger voice.

We believe that trading fairly with farmers and artisans around the world is an extension of the ethical standards driving our wish to pay our own local producers fairly.

We are glad to be supported by Ludlow Town Council, Ludlow Chamber of Trade, as well as local schools, churches and businesses.

Please come and join us!

You could help with …

* delivering the Fairtrade message to young people in primary and secondary
schools and colleges,
* organising activities and events during Fairtrade Fortnight in September,
* helping on a Fairtrade stall in the market or a church, selling Fairtrade goods
and campaigning on Fairtrade issues,
* assisting us with keeping our WordPress site and Facebook page up to date.

...And there are lots of other things - designing eye-catching resources, keeping
the Fairtrade flower bed just outside the castle looking wonderful …

We would love to hear your ideas too!
