Town Tours | Exploring
Guided town tours of the medieval centre of Ludlow have been organised for over 40 years by Ludlow Historical Research Group. They aim to interest visitors and locals in the history of the town and at the same time raise money to support further research into Ludlow’s fascinating history.
Did you know that Katherine of Aragon spent some early months of married life in Ludlow castle in 1502 as the young bride to Prince Arthur, or that when Nelson visited the town in 1803 he stayed at the Angel in Broad Street and addressed the crowd from the fine rundown overlooking the street?
You can join a guided tour and find out so much more about the town. Tours are led by one of the group of experienced volunteer tour guides who offer an entertaining and informative glimpse into Ludlow life and history, including anecdotes of some of the two's more colourful characters.
Proceeds from the tours go to support local causes in the town with grants of financial assistance.
