‘Only in Ludlow’ Loyalty Card

Ludlow Independent shops have their very own Loyalty Card, launched in July 2015, the card is accepted in over 20 businesses in Ludlow Town Centre.

You can support your local independent shops and have a chance of winning a unique ‘Only in Ludlow’ gift hamper in the process. To do so simply pick up a free loyalty card from a participating business, fill in your personal details and present it every time you spend over £1 in a participating shop.

Once you have filled the card with stamps hand it in at your nearest participating shop and you will entered into the next hamper draw. There will be a three gift prize draw every quarter for the unique ‘Only in Ludlow’ hampers, these are chock full of amazing goods and vouchers from the participating shops and business.

The card is all about raising awareness of the enjoyment and economic importance of shopping, eating and drinking in local businesses. Ludlow supports over 70 independent shops alone and there are many cafes as well.

Research shows that 63p of every pound spent in local small to medium sized businesses stays within the local economy, compared with a mere 40p for larger businesses.

Roger Curry owner of fifth generation ladies and gents outfitters ‘Bodenhams’ says , ‘We want people in town spending what they can, when they can, we’re not making it exclusive, it’s just about spending money with local businesses rather than national chain shops. It is what will make the difference if we are to retain Ludlow’s unique shopping offer’.

He continues, ‘I think a lot of people can’t be bothered to explore what some independent shops have to offer. They would be surprised if they just take the time, I know it’s so easy to go online now, I don’t deny it, we all do it. However if we can encourage more people to shop local a bit more regularly we’d all be happier. We get visitors from all over the country and the world that visit Ludlow because of what the town offers, we need to shout about it a bit more and reward those that do make the effort with an opportunity to win something.’
